Choosing the right AI tools for your business.
The question we hear most from Wellington business owners is simple: which AI should we use? The honest answer is that it depends on the software you already run and what you want AI to do.
The main options.
ChatGPT (OpenAI)
The best-known assistant, strong all-rounder, with Team and Enterprise plans for business use
Claude (Anthropic)
Excellent at writing, long documents and careful reasoning, with Team and Enterprise plans and connectors into business apps
Microsoft 365 Copilot
Built into Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams, a natural fit if your business already runs on Microsoft
Google Gemini
Built into Gmail, Docs and Drive, the natural choice for Google Workspace businesses
How to choose.
Start with where your work already lives. If your team spends the day in Outlook and Teams, Copilot removes the friction of switching apps. If you're on Google Workspace, Gemini is already in front of you. Many businesses then add a standalone assistant like Claude or ChatGPT for deeper writing, research and analysis work.
Free versus paid.
Free versions are fine for personal experiments. For business use, a paid business plan matters. Business plans generally give you admin controls, better privacy terms and the option to stop your data being used to train models. Always check the current terms before you sign up, as they change often.
Our approach.
We're tool-neutral. We don't take commissions from AI vendors, so our advice is based on what suits your business. In a coaching session we'll look at your current software, your budget and your team, then recommend a setup. Most Wellington SMEs end up with one or two tools, not five.
Pricing for each tool changes regularly. Add a dated comparison table here at launch.
